What is the difference between a cantilever and a tracked sliding gate?

A cantilever gate is carried on rollers in a support post frame and crosses the opening with no ground track, so it suits uneven or drained thresholds. A tracked sliding gate runs on a bottom rail cast into the surface, which costs less but needs the track kept clear.

How much extra space does a sliding gate need?

A tracked sliding gate needs a run-back roughly equal to the clear opening plus 300mm. A cantilever gate needs the clear opening plus about 50 per cent for the counterbalance tail, so a 6m opening needs around 9m of clear ground behind the posts.

Can you supply gates prepped for automation?

Yes. We weld motor mounting plates to the frame, fit reinforced hinge stiles, add duct entries for cabling and drill for safety edges before coating. The gate arrives ready for your automation engineer, and we can install as well as supply.
