Who we are

Ludex Fabrication & Welding Services Ltd ("Ludex", "we") is the data controller for personal data collected through this website. Address: 289 Bentley Rd, Doncaster, DN5 9TG. Email: arron@ludex.co.uk. Phone: 01302 315141.

What we collect and why

  • Quote, contact and bespoke enquiries: name, company, email, phone, site postcode, project details and any drawings you upload. Used to reply and quote. Lawful basis: steps prior to a contract / legitimate interests.
  • Trade account applications: company and contact details, references and accounts contacts. Used to assess and run your account. Lawful basis: contract / legitimate interests.
  • Shop orders: handled by Shopify, who process your name, address and payment details to complete the order. Lawful basis: contract.
  • Invoice payments: card payments are processed by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details. We keep the reference, amount and payment status. Lawful basis: contract and legal obligation (accounting).
  • Finance enquiries: if you apply for finance you leave our site for Ideal4Finance, whose own privacy policy applies.
  • Website analytics: only if you accept analytics cookies (see below). Lawful basis: consent.

Who we share it with

We use trusted processors to run the site: our hosting and database provider, Shopify (shop), Stripe (payments), Google (analytics, only with consent) and email delivery services. Some of these may process data outside the UK. Where they do, they use appropriate safeguards such as the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or adequacy regulations. We do not sell your data.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that don't become orders are deleted within 24 months. Customer, order and payment records are kept for 6 years to meet UK tax and accounting rules.

Your rights

Under UK GDPR you can ask to access, correct, delete or restrict your data, object to processing, ask for a portable copy, and withdraw consent at any time. Email arron@ludex.co.uk and we'll respond within one month. If you're unhappy, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Cookies

We use two kinds of storage:

  • Strictly necessary (always on): your basket, VAT display choice, your cookie choice, and sign-in for staff. These don't need consent.
  • Analytics (off unless you accept): Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) that tell us which pages are visited. They expire after up to 2 years.

The payment form, provided by Stripe, may set its own cookies to prevent fraud.

We'll update this page if our practices change. The date at the top shows the latest version.
